Binnu-utaki (Bengadake) Historic site
Greater Shuri area
A sacred site (utaki) on a hill about 165 meters high, east of Shuri, where the king himself once came to pray during the kingdom era — one of the most prestigious places of worship in the kingdom. Being one of the higher points in Shuri, it offers views over the city of Naha. It remains an active site of worship today, so please visit quietly.
