Ryutan Pond Historic site 5 min from Shuri Castle
Ryutan Pond area
An artificial pond said to have been built around 1427. During the kingdom era it was the setting for boating parties held to entertain Chinese investiture envoys. The view across the water to the castle walls is unique to this area, making it a good spot for a stroll or a rest. The Ruins of Enkakuji Temple and Benzaiten Hall are nearby.
