A Kannon (Avalokitesvara) pilgrimage site said to have been founded in the early 17th century, known locally as “Shuri Kannon-do.” A steady stream of visitors come to pray for safe travel and good health, and the hilltop grounds command a view over the city of Naha and the sea. It is within walking distance west of Shuri Castle.
