Yamagusuku Manju (Yamashiro Manju) Shop
Ryutan Pond area
A long-established shop, said to have been founded about 160 years ago, making steamed manju wrapped in gettou (sannin/shell ginger) leaves. Today the 6th generation carries on the shop along Ryutan-dori. The faint fragrance of the gettou leaf and the lightly sweetened bean filling are flavors Shuri's children have snacked on for generations. Popular enough that it often sells out.
