Zuisen Distillery Experience / Workshop
Greater Shuri area
Founded in 1887, one of the awamori (Okinawan distilled spirit) distilleries still operating in Shuri. Sakiyama, the district east of Shuri Castle, was a place licensed for awamori-making since the kingdom era, and the brand name “Zuisen” takes its name from the castle's Zuisenmon Gate and its natural spring. A tour and tasting (details vary) offer a hands-on sense of Shuri's deep ties to awamori.

Note: Groups of 4 or fewer need no reservation; groups of 5 or more must apply through the official reservation form at least 2 business days ahead, and reserved groups are given priority. Never drive after drinking.
